There was nothing much for Jephthah to look forward to after being expelled from his home by his family. He joined a band of criminals and became the dregs of society. But God saw him differently, as a leader to deliver his people from their enemies. God chooses the base and the despised and seats them among princes.

It is Not at All as You See It

The life of Jephthah resembles the lives of people rejected by their families or society. There was nothing much for Jephthah to look forward to after being expelled from his home by his family. He joined a band of criminals and became the dregs of society. But God saw him differently, as a leader to deliver his people from their enemies. God chooses the base and the despised and seats them among princes.
